French Minister unveils €100m hydrogen plan

France intends to become a world leader in the hydrogen economy.

The French Minister for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition, Nicolas Hulot, will launch the plan in 2019, and will initially focus on the use of hydrogen in industry, mobility, and energy.

The plan also intends to build 100 hydrogen refuelling stations for cars, with 1,000 by 2028. Currently there are only 20 in France. The plan also intends to see as many as 50,000 light vehicles and 2,000 heavy vehicles using hydrogen by the same date.
