UK Plan for £900m hydrogen gas plant

Cadent Gas is planning a £900m hydrogen gas plant that will extract hydrogen from natural gas. It aims to supply power for industry across the North of England and heat up to 2 million homes.

When it secures funding, Cadent aims to open the plant by the mid-2020s.

The long term plan is to provide fuel for train and heavy vehicles.

The North of England looks like it will become a great hydrogen producer and the project is a welcome addition to plans previously covered in this blog.
