China rolling out hydrogen

At the end of 2017 the writers of the Fuel Cell Industry Review predicted that China would make a big push for hydrogen.

Their prediction is coming true fast!

On Christmas Eve, state-owned media reported that China’s first hydrogen fuel cell industry park would be built in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province.

By 28th December a new hydrogen fuel cell bus from Wuhan Skywell and Wuhan Tiger Fuel Cell Vehicle was revealed. The first batch will be delivered by Q2 2018 and the partnership intends to make 3,000 buses over the next 2 years.

The Government of China is encouraging of hydrogen. It will help address air quality and related public health issues, a general problem that this blog has highlighted before.

This blog has also focused on the Japanese plan for a “hydrogen society”. China is also one to watch!
