Boosting the North West England economy with hydrogen

It looks like the North West of England is beginning to really gear up for hydrogen adoption.

I’ve talked about it before on this blog, but it’s time for an update now that interest is picking up.

The North West is to become home to a “hydrogen cluster”. Peel, a land and property company, one of the leaders of the project, estimates that it could boost the local economy by £1.6bn and create 2,300 jobs.

The hydrogen cluster has a number of goals:

- Decarbonise industrial energy supply with dedicated hydrogen pipelines

- Fuel for hydrogen cars

- Build a network of hydrogen refuelling stations

- Blend hydrogen into the existing gas system

Best of luck to this exciting project from H2Go Power!
